Anna Mary Robertson Moses, or Grandma Moses, was an American folk artist who found color and joy in the everyday. She was a self-taught artist who took up painting later in life at age 78. Her depictions of rural American life captivated people across the country and even landed her a Time Magazine cover feature. Before her death at age 101, she had gained the reputation of "the nation's Grandma."
