UNIQLO x MFA Collection
Take a sneak peek at our new MFA x UNIQLO Archive Collection that highlights a selection of Japanese color woodblock prints from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Ukiyo-e prints were produced by a three step-process: the artist draws the image, a craftsman carves the woodblocks, and a printer applies the pigments to the woodblocks to print them on Japanese paper. As a result, many ukiyo-e works share the same motif but vary in textures and colors.
This UNIQLO collection features representative works by three famous Ukiyo-e artists who flourished during the Edo period: Kuniyoshi Utagawa, Hiroshige Utagawa, and Hokusai Katsushika. While you wait for the newest drop, be sure to snap up the remaining pieces from our previous collection!
