The striking cover of this notebook pulls its design from a porcelain plate from the Qing dynasty in China. Trade from Asia to Europe to America in the 18th century allowed this piece to make its way to the States around the time of our country's formation. Artwork like the piece seen on this journal cover were crucial influencing factors in the art American artists went on to create.
